Logo design and website header for The Maryland Baltimore News, a Baltimore-based news and lifestyle website. Every visit to Baltimore evokes a mix between security and personal empowerment, every visit I find new facets of the city. It's not just a surface level sensation, it's an all-encompassing experience: the city's structure built upon generations of hard, manual labor, grit, resilience, and heat, makes its industrial heritage tangible. Baltimore's grit has been a consistent source of inspiration for my design work since my first visit, including a recent field trip to the Baltimore Museum of Industry. There, I found a typeface that inspired the logo: Baltotype, I.B.M. Executive Modern, 1957. The color palette's based on the Maryland flag and Baltimore's inner harbor.
