I was one of 9 designers to rebrand YouTube Music. Through a 4 month design process, our goal was to show how YouTube Music presents their coverage of the music industry (globally) through authenticity, inclusivity and cultural relevance. Given both the workflow & system our directors had put together, I wanted to keep the animations short, having less eye stimulation and more emphasis on the artist being showcased. For my assigned formats, I saw the need to make these pieces less demanding of the viewer to engage with every single work. More about having them "hooked" with selected moving posters. I chose to work with a modular grid design, utilizing simplicity as a sense of familiarity to drive engagement.
